Quintin Cooper, an award winning, International, Gospel Artist who is making a riveting and unexpected rise among some of the Gospel industry greats. He’s definitely a rarity and is becoming acclaimed for his dynamic voice, his flawless vocal ability, his edgy lyrics, and his—as he likes to say, “old soul.” Quintin makes it quite clear that he can’t be put in the proverbial music box and will always thrive on being set apart and unique. He’s been known for his risky writing, his charismatic personality, high standards and expectations, musical vision, and his canny ability to understand and communicate the music.
Quintin was born in a small town called Idabel, Oklahoma. He was born to a musical family; therefore, his musical abilities were intuitive. He began playing drums at age 2; bass guitar at 9; keys at 12, and would later move on to play the lead guitar. He began singing and traveling at age 11. This musical background allowed him to become an Apollo Winner. He performed on Star Search as a Solo Artist and by age 13 he had become an affective Minister of Music at The Solid Rock Apostolic International Church— his father’s church. In this position, he often found himself challenged to be greater in his ability to learn, teach, orchestrate, lead, play and understand the music. This position catapulted him into a life that he’d not fully planned for, and a life where he would develop more skills, talents, abilities and techniques for music, vocal training and the Industry. At age 18, Quintin moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in pursuit of a career that had become a burning passion for years.
Since then, he’s appeared on The Bobby Jones Gospel Show, The South Florida Gospel Network, recorded and aired live in Jamaica. He was also featured in The South Florida Gospel Network Magazine, as winning The Most Congenial Artists of South Florida Award. Shortly after winning the award and completing the show, Quintin began recording his debut album with MTAM Records in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Since that album, Quintin has appeared and performed at The MGM Hotel in Las Vegas, TBN, The Stellar Awards, IMAC, The Word Network, IMPACT and etc. He's made several album appearances, and shared the stage with many of today's great Gospel artists. Quintin has traveled and orchestrated a few of his own multi-city music tours, which allowed him to make his way into the hearts of people with his testimony, his transparent, no non-sense speech, his pure motives, and his humble spirit. Quintin remains well respected and well connected.
Quintin has recently become an ordained minister and pastor of a ministry that was founded by a God-given vision, The Freedom Center, which is a ministry focused on the deliverance and practical living of the people. After doing a 5 year sentence in prison, Quintin has a heart to see the people of God truly free. One thing that rings true about Quintin is when it comes to ministry, he’s serious. He states “…as it is related to my career and ministry, [my goal] …is to replicate stability and consistency, while prioritizing every element of ministry, moving into unchartered and feared areas, bringing truth and freedom where it is received. It is imperative that I continue learning new and relevant lessons and developing new character that will enhance my everyday life and ministry. This involves struggle.”
Quintin has also founded what seems to be a very progressive Music Company, Quin10 Music Group. It is a comprehensive and intricate music company that began when Quintin decided to pursue the music ministry “full time.” It was started and founded on what he says were “simple ideas and inspiration.” One thing for sure is that it has gotten off to an impressive start and it holds a vision that shows an amount of potential that is promising to the music industry at large.
Currently, Quintin is working on his upcoming album, Released. On October 31, 2015, he released his single, What I’m Dealing With, which has an edgy, R&B vibe, and will minister to many that are going through the similar situation. It’s evident that this man has a solid call to leadership and ministry with a high commitment to kingdom building.
